LET'S GO TO IRELAND!!!

Introduction

Congratulations!! Our class has received a certain amount of money from the goverment to plan a whole week trip to Ireland!!! But unfortunately there is not enough money for the entire class... We will learn how to look for a flight, book a bed in a hostel or find the best way to travel in Ireland.

Only three of us will go so LET’S DO A LITTLE COMPETITION!!!

Task

You will create a wiki in wikispaces to plan a trip to the following cities in Ireland: Dublin, Galway and Killarney.

You can use photos, tables and any other tool to make the wiki look more appealing.

In groups of three you will have to find the best price for the flight from Madrid to Dublin and back from Dublin to Madrid.You will decide the best way to go from a city to another... by bus, by train, renting a car... And you will also find the best and cheapest accomodation in each place... a Hostel, a B&B or a Hotel. You will stay two nights in each city. You will spend two classes in preparing the wiki and then you will show your results to the rest of the class.

Process

Get into groups of three students.

Student A will have to find the best price for your flight, go to “Resources” and find the cheapest tickets for four adults to go to Dublin on the 4^th of may and go back to Madrid on the 10^th, go to this website for instructions.

Student B will select the different ways (by bus, train or renting a car) and its prices of going from Dublin to Galway on the 6^th of may, from Galway to Killarney on the 8^th and back to Dublin again on the 10^th. For doing that you will go to “Resources” again. Ask your teacher for some advice, as this a difficult task.

Student C will find the best accomodation in each city. You will go to this website and find the different prices for staying in a Hotel, a B&B or a Hostel. Remember, you will spend the first two nights in Dublin the 4^th and the 5^th, the next two nights (the 6^th and the 7^th) you will be in Galway and you will be in Killarney the last two nights (the 8^th and the 9^th).

Once you have got all the information share your results in your group. Examine and analyse the information that you have found. Discuss with your group what can be the best options and find and agreement. Remember that we have a limited amount of money for the trip. Finally use this wikipage for adding the results of your work. For doing it just press on the “edit this page” button and copy the information there, you can also add some photos or tables or any other element.

Conclusion

Going abroad on a paid trip is wonderful, but it is a very hard work to find the best way to do it. I hope you have learnt a little bit more about travelling while preparing this webquest.
